Anthony Hose

Anthony HoseAnthony Hose is director of orchestras at Stetson University and a frequent guest conductor with All-State and All-County orchestras. He began playing the piano aged three and gave his first recital aged six, winning a Junior Exhibition to the Royal College of Music in London, aged 10. He studied conducting in Salzburg, and then with Rafael Kubelik in Munich and Geneva. Whilst still a student he was appointed assistant conductor of Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

He has worked with many opera companies and orchestras throughout Europe including the Berlin Symphony, Budapest Concert Orchestra, the Icelandic Symphony, the Rhine Philharmonic, the Munich Bach Collegium, and the Orchestre de L'Opéra de Lyons, and in Britain with the London Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, English Chamber, and Welsh Chamber Orchestra of which he is principal conductor. Many of his performances have been broadcast by the BBC.

He was for many years a professor at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London and a guest conductor with the Cincinnati College Conservatory. He has given orchestral, opera, and Lieder masterclasses throughout Europe.
